Annette Simon is known for her brilliant, eye-catching illustrations and staccato children’s stories. Her first book,This Book Is for All Kids, But Especially My Sister Libby. Libby Died. (Andrews McMeel), is a child’s-eye view of grief and hope. The book received high praise and many groups and foundations used the book as a tool to help cope with loss.
In 2005, Annette’s second picture book, Mocking Birdies(Simply Read Books) , was named one of the Fifty Best Books by the AIGA. Annette’s Robot Zombie Frankenstein was recently published by Candlewick Press (“Great fun!” says School Library Journal). Annette is now working on a new book about the funny competitive Robot friends, which involves burping (excuse me!).
Annette is a former advertisting creative director. She lives with her family in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
