Jessie Hartland is a commercial artist who lives and works in New York City. She is the author of Clementine in the City (Viking), Makin’ Waves: Fun for Kids in the Tub (Chronicle), and Henri Matisse: Drawing with Scissors (Grosset); and she created the iconic covers for Fodor’s Kids Travel series. Jessie recently published How the Sphinx Got to the Museum and its sequel, How the Dinosaur Got to the Museum (both Blue Apple). Schwartz & Wade published Jessie’s illustrated biography of Julia Child, Bon Appetit: The Delicious Life of Julia Child, on the 100th anniversary of Julia’s birth in August, 2012. Jessie is now at work on a new biography for Schwartz & Wade.
