Tom Warburton

Tom Warburton, who writes under the name “Mr. Warburton,” is the creator of the original hit series Codename: Kids Next Door, which had a six-year run on Cartoon Network. He has previously served as a director for Cartoon Network’s Sheep in the Big City and lead character designer for Disney’s Pepper Ann. Before that, Tom spent five years at commercial studio J. J. Sedelmaier Productions, where he was production designer on MTV’s Beavis and Butthead and director on new episodes of Schoolhouse Rock and on Saturday Night Live’sTV Funhouse.

Tom Warburton’s first picture book, 1000 Times No, was published by HarperCollins in 2009. The Boston Globe called it a “tour de force” and added “1000 Times No is Warburton’s first children’s book, but one hopes it will not be his last.” Tom is working with Nickelodeon on a pilot for a series of interstitials based on the 1000 Times concept.

Tom is now at work on a middle-grade novel with pictures, called School Bus 7, about a school bus the size of the Queen Mary. He’s also putting the finishing touches on new 1000 Times books, and as well as pre-school titles Don’t Tell Daddy! and My Underpants are Huge.
