abigail frank, associate agent
Abigail loves weird books that challenge people to see the world in new and expansive ways—with delight, empathy, righteous anger, curiosity, awe, humor, or all of the above. She wants to read anything that could make someone think: “I didn’t know books could do that.” She is passionate about stories for young people, especially those that are cleverly hilarious, quietly heartbreaking, and/or swoon-worthy. She gravitates towards picture books that feel entirely original, chapter books with big personalities, and novels about unforgettable teens falling in love. She cares that writing doesn’t underestimate the characters or the audience. For picture books, please note that she is especially interested in author/illustrators and, in general, prioritizes lyrical, inventive texts that are a joy to read aloud. For visual art, she is most drawn to distinct and unexpected aesthetic points of view, especially in the use of color and the expression of character emotion. She is committed to advocating for the work of authors and artists with marginalized identities and is actively looking for stories that invite more young readers to recognize themselves in the books they love. She also represents select adult projects, including highly visual, gift-y, or genre-defying nonfiction, the occasional commercial rom-com or lightly speculative novel, and anything that examines our relationship to work and capital.
Abigail joined the Greenburger team in 2017 after interning at Writers House. Formerly an assistant to Brenda Bowen, she now works with Faith Hamlin on her extraordinary and eclectic list of clients. Abigail graduated with a degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College. Find her mostly reposting @abigailcrfrank & @abigailcrfrank.bsky.social
